MY STORY

I was born in a small town outside of St. Louis, Missouri. As a kid I loved comic books, science, and all things pop culture, with little of this changing to this day! Throughout highschool I continued to explore art and upon graduation won an art scholarship. After university I went into archaeology and as a side-line business I was a freelance artist and designer. Over the past few years art and design has become a fulltime profession for myself. Incredible opporturnities have come from my art over the past few years and I am excited to see where it goes from here!

WORK EXPERIENCE
I am a versitile artist who has worked on a wide array of projects. I have experience in traditional art which includes portraits, comic art, trading card art, and fantasy/science fiction art.  I am also an experienced graphic designer, having created logos, posters, t-shirts, and other graphics using Adobe software (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop). In addition, I am also an experienced film storyboard artist, character designer, graphic designer and pre-production look-book layout and graphics designer.
I have worked on trading card products for Upper-Deck, Topps, Leaf, Cryptozoic, Pastime, and Monsterwax companies.  This work has included licensed work for Fox, Marvel, Disney, Lucas Film, and more.
In addition to being a freelance artist, I am also an archaeologist. I have an MA in archaeology and over 10 years experience as a professional archaeologist in western Canada. My strong background in archaeology has made me an ideal scientific illustrator and heritage consultant.

EDUCATION
I have a B.A. from the University of Northern British Columbia, an M.A. from the University of Saskatchewan, an Extension Certificate in Digital Graphic Design from Mount Royal University and currently working on an Extension Certificate in Web Deisgn, also from Mount Royal University. In addition I have completed web courses in Comics: Art in Relationship (California College of the Arts through Kadenze), Project Management for Designers (Emily Carr University of Art and Design through Kadenze), and Introduction to Graphic Illustration (Cornish College of the Arts through Kadenze).
